Big, Big News

Welcome Back to Breakfast with Lisa & Josh!

Whew, it’s been a while. Here’s what we’ve been up to.

Ok, let’s get the big announcements out of the way first - I’ve never been a big fan of keeping the important stuff till the end.

There’s two big things to talk about today.

1 - We started a study abroad scholarship!

Yep - $5k to help a student travel the world

Our channel has always had one simple mission - help people travel the world on a budget.

It’s long past time for us to put our money where our mouths are.

That’s exactly what this is. We thought for a long time about how to most effectively help where it could have the most impact, and we landed on helping college students from modest financial backgrounds study abroad.

So, we created the “Lisa and Josh World Scholarship” - a $5,000 scholarship aimed directly at helping a college student make their study abroad dreams come true.

We’ve fully funded this first one entirely out of our pockets, and honestly we couldn’t be more excited about it!

This is a direct representation of everything we’ve been trying to do since we started this thing, and it’s beyond exciting for us to finally be able to turn that idea into something tangible.

YES

Neither Lisa or I could afford to study abroad, or really travel at all while we were in college, and when we actually were able to go on our first trips it changed EVERYTHING for us in such an all-encompassing and beautiful way.

It opened us up to the world, gave us the chance to explore new places, cultures, ways of thinking, and we learned so much… we could go on and on, but to cut right to it, we have the incredible good fortune to be able to travel full time now, and we just want to pass that good fortune on to as many people as we possibly can.

This scholarship is just the beginning - our intention is to give away a LOT more travel to a LOT more people - and this is just the start.

This is the fund page - the money flows from this fund, in $5k chunks, to the scholarship.

We’re intending to give away 1 scholarship this year, 2 next year, 4 the year after - you get the idea.

As many as we can, as often as we can.

We’re working with the Bold.org team to make this happen, and we can’t say enough nice things about them - they’ve really helped us get this thing off the ground.

If you want to check out the scholarship (or, college students out there - apply!), all the details are here - https://lisaandjosh.com/scholarship

This thing came about mostly as a way to ensure that the scholarship continued to get funding so that we could give away even more scholarships to college students. This also, obviously, helps support us to make even more awesome videos for you.

This is our travel hacking course. There’s a lot, lot, lot more.

We just want to say, especially to those of you reading this newsletter, a massive THANK YOU for coming along on this ride with us.
