Breakfast with Lisa & Josh #16

Welcome back to Breakfast with Lisa & Josh!

Hello from Los Arcos Spain :) We are 7 days into the Camino de Santiago, and we’re having a good time. And we’re also bored out of our minds sometimes as we walk 15 miles every day across mostly-the-same landscapes in the insane heat of Spain in August. And we’ve also met some incredible people who are all doing this Camino for vastly different and incredibly personal reasons. The Camino is a give-and-take experience, and to be honest, we haven’t really figured out how to enjoy it fully, or lean all the way into it, just yet.

We have a lot of great videos coming up about not only the Camino, but about Budapest, Munich, Prague, Paris… there’s so much good stuff happening on our channel in the next few weeks. We can’t wait to show it all to you. We just have to edit it all. Which is taking longer and longer. We even missed a few of our upload dates this past week, which has never happened before. We’re trying to find our balance of creating videos, traveling full time, and keeping up with everything else that we have in our life. We haven’t found what that balance is yet, obviously - and I think we’re kinda flailing recently. I think we need to start setting aside specific time to just work on videos, or maybe even do a sort of “work-acion” and stay in one place for a week or more and do YouTube things, and then film and travel the rest of the time. I’m not sure - just a few thoughts about what it’s like traveling and making videos about it. Not complaining - we’re crazy lucky to be able to do what we do - but to pretend that it’s all easy and never work would just be… well.. disingenuous at best. And we aren’t about all that.

Trails. As far as the eye can see. This is our life right now.

We don't have to do EVERYTHING together - Innsbruck, Austria after dark

This is a video about us learning that we don’t have to do EVERYTHING together, all the time. It took us far too long to realize that what we were doing wasn’t normal - most people have some parts of their lives apart. They go to work, go to the gym, hang out with their friends without their significant other - just generally have some parts of life that are separate from each other. We spend literally 24/7 together, and do everything together, which is not normal, and maybe not even healthy. This is our attempt at figuring that out, while enjoying Innsbruck.

Don't Sleep on Innsbruck - Why You Should Visit Innsbruck, Austria

This is a video that I’m particularly proud of - we fell in love with Innsbruck almost as soon as we got there, and realized how much of a mistake we had made by not putting this higher on our list of places to stay. To help prevent you from making the same mistake, we hope that this video will hopefully help you see that it’s as amazing as we found it :)

What’s going on now?

So much walking. Deciding if we should skip a few stages of the Camino, or if we need to so that we can do the things we want to do in Europe without overstaying our Schengen Visa. It kinda feels like cheating to skip ahead, but it might just be what’s best for us right now. Hard to know what to do. We’re deciding on that right now, and we can’t really figure out what the right choice is.

So, that’s it for this week. More great videos coming soon!

See you next Sunday…ish :)
