Breakfast with Lisa & Josh #24

Breakfast with Lisa & Josh #24

Welcome back to Breakfast with Lisa & Josh!

Hello from the airport in Cyprus… nope, Athens… nope, Milan… there we are, Italy! It’s been quite a travel day for us. I’ve tried to write this 4 different times, but we keep running from lounge to airport gate back and forth trying to get to Casablanca. Yes, like the movie.

On another note - we’ve been, so, so lazy the past few weeks.

We took a bit of a mini-vacation inside of our trip to just stop filming for a week. We had realized that we were thinking of our trip through the lens of making videos first, instead of prioritizing our probably-once-in-a-lifetime trip first, and making videos as a secondary part of that. It’s hard to explain accurately, but making these YouTube videos has become a full time job for us. It constantly blows our mind how far we’ve come with this thing, and that we get the opportunity to connect with all of you out there through sharing our travels every day… but we needed a break to focus on ourselves and just not think about YouTube for a bit.

So that’s exactly what we did. It’s my (Josh) favorite week of the year - when I get to fully nerd out and watch the largest eSports tournament in the world. It’s a thing called “The International”, for a game called Dota 2, and the prize pool is an INSANE $40,000,000. Yeah, you read that right. So, I spent most of the week just glued to our TV in our apartment in Cyprus while Lisa went out and actually enjoyed the world like a normal person.

Eh, I didn’t miss out on much. Right? Right?? Oh man that looks beautiful. FOMO.

After a few lovely days in Athens seeing some old friends, we flew to Cyprus to just do a whole lot of nothing. It felt like the first true vacation that we’ve had since we’ve left 4ish months ago. The life of a travel YouTuber is amazing, but relaxing is not a word that anyone could reasonably use to describe it.

Today we are heading off to Morocco to meet up with our friends the One Pack Wanderers - Tia and Cheveyo. We rented a sweet Airbnb right on the ocean near Rabat, and are going to hang out and make videos all about that area of Morocco. We’re so excited to see our friends :)

Videos this week

WATCHES RICK STEVES ONCE

This is one of my most favorite things we’ve ever done. Totally, way outside of our lane - trying to do a comedy parody skit, but I’m so proud of how it came out :) If you’ve ever wondered what happened to Rick Steves, come here to find out. The writer for this skit is AMAZING, if you need help writing skits for your channel, we can point you in his direction.

How much does the Camino de Santiago cost?

How much did our Camino de Santiago adventure cost? Here’s the answer.

So, that’s it for this week. More great videos coming soon!

See you next Sunday…ish :)

Oh, and if you want to learn how we afford to take all these trips after quitting our jobs last year, you’ll likely be interested in our Skillshare course on Travel Hacking and Frequent Flier Miles. It’s been really taking off lately, but we still have a few uses of this link left for those of you who want to see the class for free. It comes with a free month of Skillshare, which is more than enough to watch our class and any of the other great courses on there!
