Breakfast with Lisa & Josh #27

Welcome back to Breakfast with Lisa & Josh!

It’s 4:30 am here. Lisa and I are hilariously jetlagged. Time is but an illusion that is actively working against us. We just got back to the USA after 4 months away in Europe, and everything feels wrong about writing that sentence.

See, it’s not like we exactly wanted to come home - we were actually just getting in the swing of things. We had gotten kinda good at traveling, the lifestyle and pace of full time travel had started to feel kinda normal and comfortable, we were just setting into it. But then my little brother had to go and get married, so here we are back in the US. Just kidding bro - you know we can’t wait to celebrate with you :)

Outside of reconnecting with friends and family that we haven’t seen for far too long, we’re also planning the next leg of our trip. And let me tell you, the next leg is going to be AMAZING, and also an absolute LOGISTICAL NIGHTMARE. We’re going to attempt to travel in SouthEast Asia, which has just reopened, and the rules are, in a word, convoluted. We’re talking 10+ documents, travel insurance, pre-flight vaccination travel pass, convincing the US to convert a paper CDC card into a QR code, specific vaccinated-travel-lane direct flights level complicated. I spent literally all day yesterday unraveling the mystery that is getting to Singapore, and I’m happy to announce -

We somehow figured it all out and are going there in 10 days :) Much more on this to come, very soon.

As for the last few days in Europe before coming home, they were a blur of epic proportions. Morocco to some cheap airport WAYYYY outside of Paris, bus into Paris, switching hotels 2 times in 3 days, seeing friends, figuring out testing to get back to the USA, getting up incredibly early to get to the airport, eating 4 croissants a day, sharing meals, and just overall having an amazing end to our Europe trip. There were so many incredible things that happened over the past 4 months… I don’t even know where to start. A picture is worth a thousand words, so let’s do that instead of me trying and failing to explain.

What a trip.

Oh, and if you want to learn how we afford to take all these trips after quitting our jobs last year, you’ll likely be interested in our Skillshare course on Travel Hacking and Frequent Flier Miles. It’s been really taking off lately, but we still have a few uses of this link left for those of you who want to see the class for free. It comes with a free month of Skillshare, which is more than enough to watch our class and any of the other great courses on there!
