Breakfast with Lisa & Josh #40

Breakfast with Lisa & Josh #40

Welcome Back to Breakfast with Lisa & Josh!

It really feels like the world, at least most of it, has decided to reopen this week. It’s a beautiful thing.

Between Australia (which we are VERY excited about) fully reopening on February 21, the Philippines fully reopening to anyone who’s vaccinated after 2 YEARS OF LOCKDOWN, Malaysia opening up next week, Europe easing restrictions just about everywhere, Indonesia, and Bali specifically allowing direct international flights, Ireland opening with no quarantine - it feels almost like hope. It feels like things are almost, dare I say, starting on the path back to normal. I know, it sounds wild to even think about, after 2+ years of this thing, but maybe, just maybe…I’m not sure if I even should think about it, or maybe I’ll jinx it… maybe even Japan will reopen.

Please, please, please :)

With all of the big news this week, we made some new, very exciting plans :) I’ll give you a hint -

Yes, that’s right - we’re flying to Australia on literally the first day they open, which I’m sure will be totally fine and nothing will go wrong, rent a campervan and drive up the east coast. We’ve been dreaming of this day for a VERY LONG time, and it just… it’s hard to explain how much this means to us that doing this is even possible. We can’t wait to share with you the whole experience, it’s definitely going to be an interesting one.

This week we’ve been preparing for Australia - wrapping things up here in Thailand, booking our flights, figuring out the entry requirements, contacting campervan companies, lots and lots of logistics. It feels like we are alive again after hibernating in Chiang Mai for the past month.

Outside of that, we’ve been working hard on our Camino de Santiago documentary, driving around our local area and seeing the sights before we leave, and catching up with family and friends.

This month was just what we needed - a place to work, relax, recharge our batteries, but we are ready for our next adventure. It’s time. :)

So, the big question - are any of you planning trips now that more and more places are reopening? If so, where? How can we help?

It’s a very exciting time, and we hope that you’re feeling the wave of optimism as well.

Oh, and if you want to learn how we afford to take all these trips after quitting our jobs last year, you’ll likely be interested in our Skillshare course on Travel Hacking and Frequent Flier Miles. It’s been really taking off lately, but we still have a few uses of this link left for those of you who want to see the class for free. It comes with a free month of Skillshare, which is more than enough to watch our class and any of the other great courses on there!
