Breakfast with Lisa & Josh #5
Welcome back to Breakfast with Lisa & Josh!
Ok, so, it’s been a few weeks. Sorry about that - it’s been quite a ride.
We spent most of the last 2 weeks either traveling, creating videos, or planning our future. We had to do the hard (but very important!) work of going through all of our finances, to see exactly what we would need to do to go on this 1 year long RTW trip that we want to take. Going through every single individual transaction, finding out what we could sell, how much Mercedes Benz was going to give us back from the lawsuit, seeing how much money we could save using our points… everything. It look a long time, but I think we are now both very confident that we can travel for at least a year straight without going totally broke. Only mostly broke.
In addition to that, we flew from Hawaii to Salt Lake City to celebrate Lisa’s brothers graduation from Dentristry school. It was such a fun time, getting on a plane again for the first time in 6 months, and spending time with friends and family.
Today’s video was about the beautiful, exposed, and if you do it wrong (like we did), dangerous Pink Pillbox hike on the west side of Oahu. You gotta see this one to believe it.
We also updated our (very popular, which is very exciting and scary!) travel guide for coming to Hawaii during the pandemic. There were so many new rules, updates, and things that have changed in the past few months that we had to make another video. It seems like the rules are in constant fluidity from one week to the next, so I totally understand why people trying to visit here are so confused. Plus, after answering our 150th question about how the 72 hour rule works, we knew we needed to explain it better.
In addition, we recently switched things up on our upcoming trip - instead of starting in Japan, we are going to hike the Camino de Santiago in Spain in July! Hopefully! :) This means that we’re kicking off our trip with a few months in Europe, followed by many more months in Japan. I can’t even begin to explain how ready I am for international travel. It feels like it’s been so long coming, we’ve been waiting for over a year at this point, and maybe, just maybe, it will actually happen this time.
Anyway - thank you so much for reading this, and for sharing a bit of your breakfast time with us. We really appreciate it! Next one is coming next Sunday - we hope you have a great week :)
